Dinner in DC

I had the great honor to represent Google at the White House Correspondents' Dinner on Saturday night. Met all sorts of interesting people (everyone from George Clooney, to Andrea Mitchell, to Gov. George Pataki, to Henry Kissinger, to Tommy LaSorda -- who had never heard of Google!, to Madeline Albright, to numerous members of Katie's wonderful family -- her uncle, Steve Scully, is president elect of the WHCA and a major figure behind this event each year).

Post-parties were all the rage after dinner. The main event each year is sponsored by Bloomberg. I was told they only had room for 750 attendees this year (of the roughly 2,000 who were at the dinner), so we opted to check out the Reuters after-party, at a cool place called ClubK. This was my first choice party anyway, as Thievery Corporation was spinning tunes all night. They played an *incredible* set -- a mix of tracks I knew from their various albums, as well as some new, more up-tempo stuff that had most of the bar dancing all night.

  • It would have been funny if the president-elect of the WCHA had been there.
