NHL Hockey Update

This is depressing...quite likely no chance of seeing any NHL hockey this season.

Hopes of saving the National Hockey League season all but vanished Tuesday when players and team owners rejected proposals to end the labor dispute.

Grim-faced representatives of the players' association (NHLPA) marched out of the league's Toronto offices following 3 1/2 hours of talks, frustrated union boss Bob Goodenow describing the owners's counter-proposal to their offer as "useless and phony."
